An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a given site. Every file which was requested in some way shall be listed, so if you have only one page with 3 embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for any of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log normally provides the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, worldwide web browser and IP address. Oftentimes you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your site. The info that an access log file features is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to prepare reports on the performance of an Internet site, in addition to the web statistics that your web hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting

Our custom Hepsia Control Panel features a section focused on various logs and the access logs are among them. Once you sign in to your shared hosting account and visit this section, you will find a list of all the domains and subdomains you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to press a button that'll be available next to every single domain/subdomain. An existing log file may be downloaded even after the function has been disabled, so you'll still be able to look at the data that's already been generated.
